The Digital Aeronautical Chart Supplement (DACS) is specifically designed to provide digital airspace data not otherwise readily available. The supplement is produced every 56 days, coinciding with the airspace cycle and includes Selected Instrument Approach Procedures, NAVAID and Fix Data.
The DACS Change Notice is effective during the second half of the 56 day airspace cycle and is used to update the DACS. There is no Change Notice effective during the first 28 days of the Airspace Cycle.
This IAP Change Notice to the Digital Aeronautical Chart Supplement is effective from:
0901Z JANUARY 14, 2010 to 09001Z FEBRUARY 11, 2010
The DACS Online Change Notice
is the only way to update your Digital Aeronautical Chart Supplement at its mid-cycle. Follow the procedure below to update your copy of the DACS:
- When available
, the following link: IAP_Change_Notice.dat
will be active and allow you to download the file.
Right-click and choose the Save Target As
option for Internet Explorer or Save As
for Netscape browser. Select the folder or directory on your system where the other DACS data is located. DO NOT SAVE AS A TEXT (.txt) FILE.
- After the IAP_Change_Notice.dat file has been downloaded, it is recommended that the dacs_datchk.exe program be run to ensure the Change Notice data integrity. Download DACS_DatChk.exe
to the same directory as the Change Notice, then double click on the downloaded program. When prompted, type "IAP_Change_Notice.dat" to check the data integrity of the file.
